Department Advisory Council

The Advisory Council is a group of representatives from both private companies and public agencies that employ chemists and biochemists, including chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies. The purpose of the Council is to advise the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry on current technological/ business trends and opportunities in industry as they relate to strategic planning for curriculum and program development, as well as to assist in the development of individual and corporate support for the department. Through the Council, the department also maintains relations with prospective employers of our graduates.

Meeting twice each year, these professionals, representing a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds, gather to share their insights, expertise, and perspectives to help the Department remain a vibrant and successful program. Membership is by invitation. Interested parties may contact department chair, Dr. Jeffrey Cohlberg at 562-985-4944 or cohlberg@csulb.edu.
